Linked in Model of recruitment in India

Many companies now a days have started to recruit people by looking their profile on linked-in.
Well this could be a very successful way of selecting profile on linked-in by looking into recommendations on any profile. But in countries like india this model of selecting profile does not looks very smart way of filtering profile as indian are still not very professional when it comes to recommendations. In India recommendations are always got through their personal relationship, and its very rare to get recommendation by following ethical professionalism.
For Indians policy is always like "Tu meri khuja mai teri khujata hun" or "I have very good term with you (personally) ,please write some good things into by linkedin profile".
